Being Who I am
What Cause this Change?
Blame it on The Society
The world is inevitably changing. The only constant is change. If you look back up in the history books, many of the cultures and traditions of doing something are scraped. Is it good? Well it actually is subjective. We are slowly losing our identity. Sure. One may argue that I am a singaporean so I will have singapore roots. Partly, but thats not our roots. That is just a byproduct of globalisation
Influenced by the Westerner.
The globalisation did give us choice in adopting a simpler way of doing things.Unlike the chinese, the westerners are better in communication. They share their knowledge and are open with new ideas. This becomes one of the factor for us losing our roots because we tend to become more susceptible to influences. The traditions they follow has purpose and that is partly why we are more susceptible in following their way of doing things. It is also much more hassle free compared to our strict traditions which are meaningless.
Blame it on our culture
-Care about themself
Chinese culture has never been generous with knowledge and information. That explains why our light body kung fu and various lethal kungfu has become a legend. Chinese rather keep the technique to their grave then to teach a wrong disciple. Because of their lack of sharing many of the kungfu ended being as myth. Chinese never like to share. They mind their own business and only care about their own family.
Male will always have the say. They man of the house will give the order. No one dare to question him. Whatever the parents did, Kids have to assume that it is right. This often leads to communictaion breakdown. Many of the meaning behind what they do is also not explained to the kids as they feel that they are more superior. Eventually, the traditional way of doing things becomes meaningless. Thats why some of the cultural process is being omitted from generation to generation.
Nevertheless, there is still many goodness in our cuture we should preserve. No doubt
How can we help to rectify ? Well a call to action is Do something when you can. There is no point blaming our ancestors for diluting the culture or tradition. Humans always seek for the easiest way out. Our custom are full of rules
